Role Overview
The Finance Controller will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of the organization, driving effective financial controls, ensuring statutory compliance, and enabling business decision-making through insightful reporting and analysis. This role will partner closely with the leadership team and act as the custodian of financial governance at Tractor Junction.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Controlling & Management
- Oversee all accounting and finance operations including accounts receivable, credit control, and vendor management.
- Implement and strengthen internal financial controls and compliance frameworks.
- Ensure timely closing of books, reconciliations, and preparation of accurate financial statements.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Drive Management Information System (MIS) reporting with actionable insights.
- Conduct balance sheet analysis and variance analysis for business decision-making.
- Taxation, Compliance & Governance
- Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance including GST, Income Tax, and other applicable laws.
- Oversee tax planning to optimize tax efficiency.
- Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
- Business Partnership & Oversight
- Work with business teams on credit control and AR analysis to minimize bad debts.
- Provide financial insights to drive growth, cost optimization, and margin improvements.
- Manage subcontractor and vendor payment cycles effectively.
- Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a finance and accounts team.
- Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and strong ethics within the finance function.
Qualifications & Skills
- Chartered Accountant with 8-12 years of relevant experience (startup or agri/marketplace exposure preferred).
- Strong understanding of Indian accounting standards, taxation, and compliance requirements.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Hands-on experience with ERP/MIS systems.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to present financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, people management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
