The Role

At Notpla, we create disappearing packaging carefully engineered for a healthy planet. Founded on the belief that nature knows best, we’re an innovative, ideas and action-oriented scale-up developing and manufacturing packaging solutions from seaweed and plants that disappear naturally. We are currently looking to recruit an Executive Assistant to work with our 2 founders and Co-CEO’s. What we will require is someone who is willing to be on site in order to spend face time with the Co-CEO’s.

At Notpla, we strongly believe in our mission and our employees' ability to help us achieve our goals. We encourage everyone who joins us to develop and grow and take responsibility for your domain without micromanagement. Our objective is to foster a fantastic business culture that is reflected in our working policies and environment.

Besides offering exciting roles and a great working environment, Notpla provides competitive salaries, the potential for EMI Share Options, a zero-carbon pension scheme, discounts with local businesses, a nursery place salary sacrifice scheme and subsidised social activities. Our flexible working policy allows you to work at your own pace.

We are a social business with regular clubs and events, and we are proud of how our diverse workplace has created a community that is all pushing towards the common goal of making plastic disappear.

Our Co-Ceos met whilst studying a masters programme, which led to their first creation, the Ooho. The Ooho, then went viral online and what started as an experiment in a kitchen in a small London flat has now grown into a multidisciplinary team of 55 scientists, engineers, designers & entrepreneurs. Rodrigo trained as an architect and designer, and took a particular interest in waste as building materials. He built a pavilion in Paris made of hundreds of thousands of plastic bottles. Originally from Madrid, Spain, he is a true innovator with an obsession for biomimicry, always finding a way to take a page out of Nature’s book.

Pierre is a packaging engineer by background. Having worked at L’Oreal to industrialise plastic sunscreen bottles and cream jars in the tens of millions, he felt the urge to transition towards sustainable solutions. He’s originally from Lyon in France and has a contagious passion for sustainable technologies.

Rodrigo and Pierre are looking for someone to come in and work collaboratively with them to allow them to maximise their capacity. You’ll be given the opportunity to make this role your own, you will work alongside the Co-CEO’s to define your responsibilities and where best to spend your time. Your general day to day responsibilities though, will include:

  • Daily email management - this will require you to prioritise communications that are business critical and downgrade less important items.

  • Diary management - ensuring important meetings go ahead, whilst carving out time for focused work to achieve their goals

  • Travel management - facilitating regular domestic and international travel.

  • General administrative assistance for the Co-CEO’s and the wider business.

  • Booking in and preparing for both on site and off site meetings, ensuring agendas and preparations are prepared and visible.

  • Shadow the Co-CEOs meetings to make sure clear actions are understood and shared with attendees.

  • Work with the People and Facilities teams to ensure the space is ready and fit for external visitors.

  • Any other activities that will allow the Co-CEO’s to run the business as efficiently as possible.

Your profile

If the above sounds like something you can see yourself doing, then please apply with a CV and cover letter and someone from our recruitment team will be in touch.
